Troubleshooting

What the launcher's failure codes mean and what to check for each one.

When a launch fails, the launcher shows a short stable code beneath the human-readable message. Quote that code when you ask for help — it identifies the exact stage that failed.

Launcher codes

CodeMeaning and first check
LAUNCH-KEY-UNWRAPWindows could not unlock the launch package on this PC. Approve the PC once more from your dashboard.
MAP-INIT-1The launcher and the Client are different versions. Update the launcher.
MAP-INIT-2Your launch could not be verified. Update the launcher and try again.
MAP-INIT-3This PC is no longer recognised. Approve it again from your dashboard.
MAP-INIT-4The Client's first check-in was rejected — expired access, a revoked session, or an unlinked device. Check your dashboard.
MAP-INIT-5The Client could not reach Bubbly, or took too long to start. Check your connection and try again.
MAP-INIT-6A build problem rather than an account one. Redownload the Client.
MAP-INIT-7Hook initialization failed.
MAP-INIT-8Interface initialization failed.
MAP-INIT-9An internal failure inside the Client.

The Client starts but nothing works

Open General → Status and read the game data line. unsupported means your Minecraft build is outside 1.26.30–1.26.59 and no module that touches the game will do anything. partial means most things work but some features are inert on this build.

Other things worth checking

  • Only one copy of Bubbly can run at a time. If nothing appears, close any copy already running.
  • The launcher must be run as the account that approved this PC.
  • Your antivirus may quarantine the launcher. Both files are unsigned during testing, so an exclusion may be needed.
